A crucial unbeaten knock by Jemimah Rodrigues and her 58 run partnership with Richa Ghosh  helped India to beat there arch rivals Pakistan at Newlands on Sunday February 12 . India has become a Nightmare for Pakistan as the previous year in the T20 World Cup, Virat Kohli destroyed the Pakistan bowling line up and this year Jemimah Rodrigues created Havoc to their bowlers. 

Indian women victory in their opening match of the campaign against Pakistan powered them 2 points and now Indian team holds second position in the group B. Earlier the day Pakistan after winning the toss elected to bat first and scored a total of 149 runs in 20 overs. 
Deepti Sharma quickly scalped Javeria Khan's wicket in the second over and give India the first breakthrough. 

Number three Batter Bismah Maroof's half century helped Pakistan to reach to a respectful total. From the other end, the wickets kept falling but Bismah Maroof didn't left the crease and kept hitting the ball. Pakistan lost  the wickets of the top order in quick successions. But then Ayesha Naseem who was in a good nick came on the crease and fired 43 runs off 25 balls. Her crucial contribution helped Pakistan to come out from Dangerous position. 

Indian openers Yastika Bhatia and Shefali Verma gave a good start but failed to deliver long innings. Jemimah Rodrigues came to the crease and started hitting the ball. She along with Richa Ghosh architect the innings. Their quick firepower allowed India to get a comfortable victory against their arch rivals. India achieved the target in 19 overs with 6 balls to spare.

Now India women will face West Indies women on 15 Feb and Pakistan women will face Ireland women also on 15 February.
